About SolarCheck

We got tired of quotes that started with a guess.

Most solar quotes in South Africa start the same way. Someone asks what your bill is, picks a package, and works backwards from there. You find out whether it suits your roof when the installer climbs on it.

We think that’s backwards. Your roof decides what a system can do: which way it faces, how steep it is, what shades it in the afternoon. So we start there, with a scan anyone can run from their phone, and we show you the result before we ask for anything.

What that changes

You come to the site visit already knowing roughly what you need and what it is worth. That makes it very hard for anyone to sell you something bigger than your house needs.

It also means we can say no. If your roof is heavily shaded, or your bill is too small for solar to make sense yet, the estimate shows it.

Who does what

SolarCheck is the measurement and the estimate. When you ask for a quote, our installation partner for your area does the site visit, writes the binding quote and does the installation. Your details go to that one partner and nobody else.
