How it works
From your address to a fixed quote.
The estimate does the part a salesman usually does, in the open, where you can see it.

About a minute
You scan your roof
Type your address and we find your house in aerial data. In the metros we can see every roof face: how big it is, which way it points and how steep it is. Elsewhere in South Africa we measure the roof from its aerial outline.
Where the 3D scan reaches, we show a full year of sunshine across the roof, including shade from your trees, your chimney and the double storey next door. The dark patches are real.
The aerial photos can be a few years old. If you’ve extended or rebuilt since, the installer checks it on site.

We size the system to your house
You tell us your monthly bill, who you pay for electricity and what you want kept running when the power goes. We work out how many units you use and place panels on the sunniest parts of the roof first.
We stop adding panels when they cover the share of your use that pays back. More panels than your house can use in daylight just sends power back to the grid for very little. That’s where oversized quotes lose people money.

Before we ask who you are
You see the price range
You get an installed price range including VAT, what you’d save a month and roughly when it pays for itself. For the line-by-line breakdown, leave your number and confirm it with a text code. We email you the estimate as a PDF to keep and compare.

A call within one working day
A site visit, then a fixed quote
SolarCheck’s installation partner for your area comes out to check the roof, your DB board, your supply (single or three phase) and where the inverter and battery will live. Then you get a written quote. That is the binding number, and you are under no obligation to take it.

Usually one to two days on site
Install, CoC and registration
If you go ahead, the installer fits the system. A registered electrician must test it and issue a Certificate of Compliance, and a grid-tied system must be registered with your municipality or Eskom. Ask for both in writing, along with the manufacturers’ warranties and the installer’s own workmanship terms.
What happens to your address
We use it to look up your roof. If you stop at the price, your address sits in our records only as an anonymous scan, and we never contact you.
If you ask for a quote, we keep your name, number, address and answers so we can call you and plan the visit. Nobody else gets them, and you can ask us to delete them at any time. The details are in our privacy notice.
